A rich, creamy stroganoff that's even better reheated the next day. This recipe started from an old cookbook of my mother's. It's evolved over the years and is now a family favorite. This recipe easily doubles or triples for larger groups or freezing.

Stroganoff is one of the most popular of recent trending meals on earth. It is enjoyed by millions daily. It is easy, it is fast, it tastes delicious. Stroganoff is something which I’ve loved my whole life. They’re fine and they look fantastic.

To get started with this recipe, we must prepare a few components. You can cook stroganoff using 10 ingredients and 7 steps. Here is how you cook that.

The ingredients needed to make Stroganoff:
  1. Take 1 lb chopped ribeye
  2. Get 1/2 cup diced mushroom
  3. Make ready 1 diced onion
  4. Take 2 T butter
  5. Get 2-4 T flour
  6. Take 2 cups beef broth
  7. Make ready 1/2-2/3 cup sour cream
  8. Take Oil for browning beef
  9. Get 1 1/2 cups egg noodles
  10. Take to taste Salt and pepper

With all that flavor, you might assume it's a complicated dish, but it's actually quite the opposite. Stir in the flour, salt and paprika. Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, cook the beef, mushrooms and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink. This version maintains all the classic flavors of the traditional dish, combining lean beef and onions with a creamy sauce made of a roux, beef broth, and sour cream.

Steps to make Stroganoff:
  1. Throw some oil in a skillet. Let it get hot. Add chopped ribeye and cook until almost done. Remove from heat and set aside.
  2. In pot, boil generous amount of salted water. Add noodles and cook while finished the stroganoff.
  3. In same pan, add butter, mushrooms, and onions. Cook until almost done.
  4. Add broth and flour. Whisk until combined. Let simmer for a few minutes Until thickensd.
  5. Add sour cream.
  6. Add beef. Cook for 2-3 additional minutes insuring meat has cooked through.
  7. Drain noodles once cooked, add to pan. Mix and serve. Or you can serve over noodles.

Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, cook the beef, mushrooms and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink. This version maintains all the classic flavors of the traditional dish, combining lean beef and onions with a creamy sauce made of a roux, beef broth, and sour cream. Remove the first batch to a bowl and cook the rest of the meat. Remove and set all the meat aside. Beef stroganoff is the ultimate cold weather dinner.
