The ingredients needed to make Falahari Dahi Wada:
  1. Make ready 1 cup Samak Rice powder
  2. Get 2 Boiled and mashed potatoes
  3. Prepare 1/4 cup roasted Foxnut
  4. Prepare 1 tbsp green chilies and ginger paste
  5. Get 3 tbsp Finely chopped coriander
  6. Prepare 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  7. Prepare As needed Oil for deep frying
  8. Take To taste salt (use sendha namak if making this for fast)
  9. Make ready 1/2 tsp Black pepper powder
  10. Get 2 cups Beaten curd
  11. Prepare 1/4 tsp sugar
  12. Take 1/4 tsp red chilli powder
  13. Make ready For Tempering
  14. Take 1 tsp oil
  15. Make ready 2 Whole red chilies
  16. Get 1 tsp Jeera/ cumin seeds
  17. Take 1 spring Curry leaves
  18. Get 1 tbsp peanuts

Dahi Vada is a mouth watering snack/side dish which is a must cook on festive occasions especially Holi, Sankranti etc. It is often used during the last course. Dahi Vadas are lentil dumplings dipped in yogurt and topped with spicy savory tamarind chutney. These are great as a side dish for a formal dinner, appetizer or served as a chaat.

Steps to make Falahari Dahi Wada:
  1. Dry roast foxnuts till crisp. - Grind them too to a coarse powder.
  2. In a deep pan, take 1 cup water and add salt. - Let it boil
  3. Then Add samak rice powder and cook on medium until it forms a dough consistency.
  4. Switch off the flame and let it cool slightly
  5. Take boiled & mashed potatoes, in a bowl add samak rice dough, ground foxnuts, green chilies and ginger paste, salt, pepper powder and chopped coriander.
  6. Mix well and make wadas taking small portions of the prepared dough
  7. Can wet hands if it’s sticking
  8. Heat oil in a wok and fry the wadas till crisp - and golden from all sides.
  9. Make sure you fry them in batches and do not overcrowd the kadhai.
  10. Dish out all the vadas on absorbent paper on a plate.
  11. For the tempering, - - heat some oil in a tadka pan. - Once it is nicely hot, add cumin. As it splutters, add whole dried red chilli and some peanuts - Add some more red chilli powder if you like. - Switch off the flame, then add curry leaves a
  12. Now For assembling, - - Beat or sieve the thick curd to an even consistency
  13. Add salt and sugar and give a nice mix
  14. Place two wadas in the serving plate - - Top it with some curd and sprinkle blk pepper and red chilli powder.
  15. Pour the tempering over it - Enjoy
